From chaos to capture—fast. On March 23, 2026, around 7:30 a.m., LVMPD officers responded to a violent incident near the 4900 block of West Craig Road involving a vehicle crashing into a business, followed by a stabbing and reported shooting. When officers arrived, the suspect had already fled. Thanks to our drone unit, officers were able to quickly locate the suspect from above—leading to a swift arrest. Watch this video from overhead as it unfolded. What we know: • The incident stemmed from a domestic dispute • The suspect crashed into a business before attacking a woman • Another person shot at the suspect • The victim was transported to a hospital • The suspect was arrested; the shooter was detained This is another example of how our drone program is helping officers respond faster, track suspects more effectively, and protect lives in critical moments. This remains an ongoing investigation. Event: LLV260300091130

Yesterday I spent a shift with Emergency Response officers from Central West BCU (North). The experience was a powerful and poignant one from the moment I arrived. The ‘early turn’ officers were sprinting out the door to attend a report of persons who had been seriously injured.

Accidents happen, and they can happen in a matter of seconds. Recently, our officers responded after a mom accidentally locked her keys inside her vehicle with her child still inside. She called 911 right away, stayed with her child, and officers safely reunited them within minutes. If this ever happens to you: - Call 911 immediately. - Stay with your child. - Create shade if possible and watch for signs of heat-related illness. A quick call and a calm response can make all the difference
