This morning, officers responded to the area of East Marks Street and Kenilworth Terrace after receiving reports of a stabbing. Officers learned that a suspect stabbed an rideshare driver who refused to provide a ride without a request through the rideshare app. Following the stabbing, the suspect, identified as Jovaughn Nathan Matthie, fled the scene and was quickly located a short time later inside a nearby restaurant, where officers took him into custody. Matthie was arrested and is facing Attempted Murder charges. To protect the integrity of the investigation and ensure the facts are thoroughly established, we are unable to provide additional information at this time.

A K9 dog took down a suspect who attacked a parking lot attendant in San Diego on Sunday. The suspect allegedly struck the victim on the head with a broken wooden cane and refused to cooperate with officers when they arrived on the scene.
