Former NYC LEO here-The way this works- MentalHealthProfessional distpatched then they call ChiPD. Or MHP dispatched,something bad happens and they are told to wait for PD in future. This puts burden back on PD. Who are these MHPs? Mayor's Friends on PAYROLL!

What Chicago city employee is determining when such a "mental health professional" is being sent? Because 911 calls are known for being sane and rational? What MHP is walking into a (likely) violent situation WITHOUT police? This bonehead is going to get the city sued into receivership on the first night this program goes live. Chicago absolutely gets what it deserves for electing this dolt.

I am aware how gay this sounds but, not every 911 call needs a cop with a gun or worse a female cop. This system can work for some non emergency calls.
