The Congress party’s Communications In charge had claimed that Smt. Sonia Gandhi did not attempt to stop the singing of Vande Mataram and was only asking for a chair to be kept for Mr. Kharge, during the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Congress office. But it can be very clearly seen from multiple video clips in the media that an agitated Sonia Gandhi is frantically gesturing and instructing to stop the rendition of original Vande Mataram. Rahul Gandhi can be seen stating that they are not singing the Vande Mataram[meaning the full original version]. The Congress party has harboured a historical hate and contempt for Vande Mataram. Kerala Congress MP and Minister said they won’t allow Vande Mataram to be sung in full, in Keralam.
