Russia’s State Duma elections officially began at 8:00 a.m. today. Voting will continue for three days, until 8:00 p.m. local time on September 20. The elections have already been described as unfair and tightly controlled by the authorities. The ruling United Russia party is expected to win. A total of 10 parties are on the ballot. Local candidates and organizations are already reporting the organized transportation of people to polling stations in some regions. In Irkutsk, for example, the local Communist Party campaign headquarters reported “astonishing activity” among men at polling station No. 603. Vyacheslav Dyukov, a candidate for the State Duma, said that he visited polling stations across Krasnoyarsk in the morning and saw “bussed-in state employees” there. The Civic Union said that buses carrying organized groups of state employees had appeared at several polling stations in Ufa. According to the organization, the employees were “arriving at polling stations en masse and taking photos with their ballots.” Pharmacies in Tyumen were advised to restrict sales of iodine and antiseptic dye during the elections. Police reportedly asked pharmacies not to sell large quantities of iodine, brilliant green and other coloring agents during the voting period. During Russia’s 2024 presidential election, voters in several regions poured brilliant green into ballot boxes. A criminal complaint accuses Craig Callaway, 64, a political organizer, of illegally obtaining and casting ballots that were counted in the November 2022 election. About a month before the election, Callaway and others allegedly paid several individuals to carry completed Vote-By-Mail applications to the county clerk's office. Once these individuals received the fraudulent mail-in ballots, they reportedly handed them over to Callaway and his associates. Many of the mail-in ballots collected in this manner were allegedly cast using the names of individuals who have since confirmed that they did not vote in the November 2022 election. As a Candidate in the Election and being guardian of the Votes of all Voters in my Constituency regardless for whomever the voters have voted for I must share that as per Form 45 received so far from 42 polling stations out of total 159 stations in #PS110, #PTI is currently leading, #JI second and we are third and now results of remaining polling stations are being delayed or denied including using tactics like not starting the counting or Polling Staff making ridiculous excuses that they don't have hardcopy of Form 45 to fill and give to polling agents.

Footage which emerged yesterday on social media from the province of Fars claims to show shots being fired in the direction of crowds. While in the western city of Kouhdasht - officials said a 21 year old paramilitary volunteer had been killed in clashes as protests throughout Iran continue. It's not been possible to verify any of the claims.
