The SSA-T ‘Transport Mission’ continued yesterday as the Senior Special Assistant on Transport Education & Innovation, Tobi Idowu, met with the Permanent Secretary of the Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), Mr. Rasheed Muri-Okunola, and his team to commend their leadership and explore deeper collaboration. Discussions centered on strengthening compliance, tackling misuse of dealer plates, addressing faded/defaced number plates, and promoting full compliance with vehicle documentation. The SSA emphasized that “with more compliance, there will be less enforcement,” stressing the need for transport education that enlightens and sensitizes Lagosians. The PS highlighted ongoing reforms to speed up and make driver’s license issuance more user-friendly while also unveiling plans to fully digitalize MVAA operations. He further noted that citizens can process a wide range of services at any of MVAA’s over 140 stations across Lagos at the government’s flat rate and should be discouraged from patronizing touts who inflate costs, delay processes, and provide outdated information. It will also reduce paper consumption and will be faster to transact than the banking system. But it will also have traceability...As far as cryptocurrency, which is not backed by the Central Govt, while there is no ban as such, we are taxing it very heavily. We don't encourage it because we don't want anybody to be stuck at some point with a cryptocurrency that has no backing and nobody at the backend..."

After mergers, employees are under more pressure than ever. Management treats us as numbers, and their frustrations are dumped on us daily. In her words, many Assistant Managers (Scale 3) are scared to accept promotions. Why? Because a promotion means more pressure, more targets, less time for family, and even less personal happiness. She explains how taking leave for important family events is frowned upon, and how the focus is always on work over life. What really stands out is her honest truth: yes, NBFCs may pay less, but happiness and peace of mind are far higher. In banks, the salary may be bigger, but personal happiness often drops below zero. Investing in Treasury Bonds. I have been tasked to respond to this misinformation video doing rounds by CEPA and Louis on his constant misinformed attack on Treasury Bond Investing. Investing in Unit Trusts is indirectly investing in Treasury bonds. The best advantage they offer you is automatic compounding and ease access to your money if and when needed. They don't offer you any bargaining power, since they buy bonds as a Manager on their book and allocate you your return which has averaged 11-12% vs Bonds offering above 13% per annum. It has been proven over and over Direct Investment in Treasury bonds will yield a higher return than investing in Unit trusts (However both products are needed). He talks of Bank of Uganda as the issuer of Treasury bonds. Indeed, he forgets to add on one statement, on behalf of Government of Uganda (Treasury Department of Ministry of Finance tasked with Debt Management). Bank of Uganda is Government's Bank. But this is not unique to Uganda alone. Below countries use their central bank to offer and sale and manage the Treasury bond Market. India: Reserve Bank of India Japan: Bank of Japan Nigeria: Central Bank of Nigeria Kenya: Central Bank of Kenya Ghana: Bank of Ghana Tanzania: Bank of Tanzania South Africa: South African Reserve Bank Australia: Reserve Bank of Australia Canada: Bank of Canada New Zealand: Reserve Bank of New Zealand Sweden: Sveriges Riksbank Norway: Norges Bank Denmark: Danmarks Nationalbank Finland: Bank of Finland Switzerland: Swiss National Bank South Korea: Bank of Korea This information is verifiable and Louis Kizito knows it. He keeps on talking No Investor Protection because the Bank of Uganda is the ultimate manager of the CSD System. I once asked him, when you Invest in a Fixed deposit with a Bank, do they give you their banking system to go and run it at your home, or with his new found angle of Unit trust, when I invest in a Unit trust, does the fund manager now give me their system and I be the executor of it? The CSD is an infrastructure run and managed by Bank of Uganda and its the best positioned entity to run it, and all investors get their holding statement every single time the same way they get bank statements any at point in time. This is a custody infrastructure with settlement features, who better to run it than the organization entitled to issuing the Bonds on behalf of Government? What risk would materialize if the CSD system is to stay where it is? or move to another entity? He talks about Over the counter trading in Treasury bonds, what he ignores is, for retail investors, we are encouraged to buy from the Primary market auctions in a non-competitive way which is the similar practice world over, anyone who wants to set their price especially with more money, you are welcome to, how is it this a blame for the current system? In a bid to promote a private Members bill which is actually good for our market, he is soiling the same industry that he wants to make better creating confusion and uncertainty like as if it's only his ideas that are good for the market.

Yes - we have the Air Tundra system which is basically a squeegee made of air. It pushes out compressed air at 568 miles per hour and can dry the surface area of a football field in less than 20 seconds! In addition, we have jet dryers from Total Venue Concepts and the NHRA, buffalo blowers, broom tractors and a fleet of vacuum trucks. Today, I joined the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu Babajide Sanwo-Olu , at the presentation of ₦3.1 billion in compensation to 331 property owners whose lands and buildings were acquired for critical infrastructure projects across Badagry, Epe, Ikorodu, Igbogbo and Ogba. As the Lagos State Government continues to deliver the roads and public infrastructure needed to support a growing megacity, we remain equally committed to ensuring that those whose properties are affected are treated with fairness, dignity and respect. Every compensation claim underwent a thorough verification process in line with established procedures to ensure that all rightful beneficiaries received their entitlements. While these transformative projects will ultimately benefit millions of Lagosians, we do not take for granted the sacrifices made by those directly impacted. Our commitment to transparency, accountability and equitable governance remains unwavering. 🚨#WATCH: As Riders were stranded & stuck 250 feet in the air at Six Flags due to a storm, leaving them exposed to heavy rain and wind 📌#MexicoCity | #Mexico Watch wild video footage as a group of riders at Six Flags Mexico experienced terrifying moments when they became stuck nearly 250 feet above the ground during a storm. The incident occurred last Sunday, leaving people on the Supergirl Sky Flight dangling in the air for about 10 minutes. Video taken by one of the riders shows them waiting in windy and wet conditions. They reported, "We went up on Supergirl, and as it was underway, it started to rain, and quickly got worse. As we were high up, with the rain and the ride in motion, it stopped, and we were stuck at the top for ten minutes in heavy rain." Unfortunately, the storm intensified during the evacuation process, creating uncomfortable moments for the visitors. However, park staff attended to everyone, and no incidents were reported. The Sky Screamer resumed normal operations shortly after, according to Six Flags Mexico.
