After much thought and consideration, I have decided to vote 'No' on the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill. Firstly, there is a real fear that vulnerable people, including women who have suffered domestic abuse, could be coerced into taking their own lives. Secondly, many disabled people fear that their lives will be devalued and could be pushed to take their lives. Thirdly, the scope of this bill could be widened to include more illnesses and younger ages, as has been the case in other countries. Instead of creating a pathway for people to end their lives, we should be strengthening the palliative care services that help them live their final days with dignity, comfort and support.

🚨Another day, another video of ICE agents illegally detaining a U.S. citizen and demanding “proof of citizenship,” in Minneapolis. In the video, you can see agents stop a car and immediately demand ID, without a warrant or probable cause. That is illegal. After running the ID, the agents get back in their vehicle and leave, because they never had the right to stop the person in the first place. This is what the Trump administration is trying to normalize… Masked agents pulling people over at random, demanding papers, and kidnapping U.S. citizens who don’t have their IDs, or if the agents aren’t able to identify them in their system. That is not legal. That is a direct violation of the United States Constitution… And it should terrify anyone who still cares about freedom.

The newly declassified documents reveal that DHS found 278,000 noncitizens registered to vote, but that didn’t stop Rep. Himes from claiming that foreigners don’t vote in our elections: “Foreigners do not vote in our elections… in billions and billions of votes cast in this country, a handful - literally a handful, single or double digits - of foreigners have voted in this election.” Lol!
