A Florida sheriff warned protesters in a press conference on Thursday that "we will kill you, graveyard dead" if they throw weapons or point a gun at officers. "If you hit one of us, you’re going to the hospital and jail, and most likely get bitten by one of our big, beautiful dogs that we have here," Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey said an event with local law enforcement that declared Florida as "The Anti-Riot State." This tragedy is a stark reminder that public safety must come first and that this person should not have been here in the first place. There should never be a pathway to citizenship. If you broke our laws to get here, how can we trust you to uphold them once you’re here.
