I had already been declared a racist before arrival.

Few things are more enraging to students than the invocation of black privilege.

@BerkeleyLaw @berkeleyfedsoc @stevenfhayward Not only is being black at university not oppressive, it is a privileged status, one that many whites covet. The progressive narrative is not just false, it is literally the opposite of reality. At elite universities, blacks are privileged and whites face explicit racism.

I don't think the general public has any idea how bad the legal institution has become - let alone how dreadful it's going to be. My practice spanned five different decades. I've watched the decline closely. After the 2008 crash, the quality of scholarship dropped dramatically. (The best and brightest got wise to the game and applications fell dramatically.) Standards were dropped to attract lesser qualified "dreamers" - oftentimes just to keep the doors open and the lights on. Now we're seeing that same sub-standard scholarship coupled with extreme ideological capture - the worst goddam combination imaginable. I doubt the system can withstand what's coming in the next 4-5 years. So many of these students (and yes I know it's Berkeley) either lack, or have no interest in cultivating, the intellectual scaffolding, the temperament or the finely tuned skill sets required in complex litigation. These are far from the brightest sons and daughters of the Republic.
