BREAKING: Kristi Noem repeatedly refused to rule out sending ICE to polling places during the midterm elections when Senator Chris Coons asked. “We have no plans on having ICE officers at polling locations.” Repeatedly she refused to say she’d rule it out, and refused to say she would issue a directive to the agency not to have ICE agents anywhere near the polls in November. In other words, they will send ICE agents to the polls in order to intimidate black and brown people. This is a violation of federal law.

"Are we now going to have to carry passports to be safe when we vote?" At least 9 agents swarmed the parking lot where voting was taking place inside the library. ICE does not accuse the man of trying to vote illegally—saying it was just an arrest that just so happened to be at a polling place. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar later arrived on the scene and told any federal agents to leave the polling area. Seconds later, another ICE vehicle pulls alongside the car, creating a situation where ICE agents appear to be surrounding and pressuring the American citizens. This is not just alarming… it is dangerous. A government vehicle is not a weapon. Federal agents do not get to use their vehicles to intimidate, pursue, or restrict someone’s movement without legal justification. This is what happens when law enforcement agencies believe they have unlimited power. Federal agents are still bound by the law… and Americans have a right to demand accountability when those laws are ignored.
