JUST IN: Oshana Governor Hofni Iipinge today officially handed over the old Toivo Ya Toivo Secondary School site in Ondangwa for renovation into Oluno Secondary School. The school buildings have stood dilapidated for the past 3 years. Speaking at the handover, Iipinge said the renovation project is expected to create between 50 and 70 casual jobs. He urged the contractor to commence work as soon as possible to ensure the school is operational by next year. The Governor said the project will be rolled out in three phases. The first phase alone is estimated to cost about N$16 million. Iipinge further announced that there are about 45 dilapidated government buildings across the region. He said all will be assessed and addressed one by one. He added that he is against demolition, and believes that renovation will better serve residents by providing spaces for business, meetings, and other community facilities. Video: Loise Shiimi
