#WATCH | Mumbai: On the Maratha Reservation agitation, Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde says, "We have taken a time of 2 months. We will think about the flaws and difficulties in it and will definitely remove them. In the Hyderabad Gazette, whoever applies for a 'Kunbi' certificate, whether he is related to them or someone from their village, whatever certificate they have, on that basis, their house will be monitored, and a village-level committee has been formed there. A three-member committee of a village revenue officer, a village panchayat officer, and an assistant agriculture officer, at the very lower level. At the village level, this has happened for the first time... This will benefit the Maratha community... All these GRs have been issued within the ambit of law. So I think that if anyone challenges the decision taken by the government, the government will completely protect this GR and the benefits that the Maratha community will continue to get, our government has also taken a stand to ensure that no other community is harmed by it..."

#WATCH | NPP (National People's Party) withdraws its support to the Manipur Government with immediate effect. In Delhi, NPP MLA & National Secretary (Political Affairs) Sheikh Noorul Hassan says, "In the letter issued by national president Conrad K Sangma, he has mentioned and it is known fact that because of the failure of the present CM N Biren Singh and his Govt in bringing peace and normalcy in the state, the law and order is completely messed up in Manipur... There is no law and order, no normalcy, there is no roadmap ahead to bring peace and normalcy in Manipur. This unfortunate violence and conflict that is taking place for the last 18n months has completely eroded the confidence of general public today in the street...We are also under scrutiny of the general public, what are we doing as we were supporting the BJP-led Govt from outside without condition. But the present Govt failed to bring back normalcy and peace in the state so finally the national president has taken the step in this regard...NPP will go with the general public, the wishes of the general public...NPP is part of NDA. #WATCH | Guwahati, Assam: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma says, "The Assam government had constituted an SIT to enquire an alleged anti-India conspiracy involving Ali Tokhir Sheikh, in connivance with British citizen Elizabeth Colburn Gogoi. The case has been investigated, and sensitive material information has been obtained from various sources. However, the SIT has reported that beyond a point, it may not be possible to continue the investigation as assistance from Interpol and sensitive information from the Government of India and Parliament are required. It has therefore been decided that the case will be handed over to a Central government agency to be selected by the Ministry of Home Affairs..." (07.02)

This was also our second demand. The government has accepted that demand as well. Furthermore, the withdrawal will be done shortly. #WATCH | Delhi | Gymkhana club row | Advocate Naman Joshi says, "Abhishek Manu Singhvi made a couple of arguments - under the law, if there is to be a resumption of a lease and somebody has to take possession, you have to follow the procedure that is laid down in the Supreme Court's judgment and express newspapers and the government is at no better footing. The government would also then have to file a civil suit which is not what the courts that seem to be on the way that they were following. Second - the notice that has come on 22nd is unspecific and does not specifically talk about what public purpose, what urgent need is there to take over this land in such a short span of time... This lease has been in place for 100 years now, almost. And third - the members having to come would have come to court but today the Gymkhana club is run by 15 people who are nominated by the Government of India. The lesser is the Government of India and the lessee is controlled by the Government of India, so therefore there will be no real fight and which is why the members have to come and agitate the cause in a derivative action to say that the club needs to be protected. He also says, "Fortunately, the court found favour in these arguments. The Solicitor General also then appeared in the matter and said that the government of India will do nothing without following the due process of law. Defendant number 2, the club's counsel, also said that the club has, in fact, written a letter and opposed the government's move to take over and resume the land. The court has taken note of these concerns and passed the order after recording the Solicitor General's statement... It is a reprieve for the club... There will be no eviction on June 5th is what the order would read like."
