@CoulibalyBojana @dushimimana_e This is actually a misunderstanding of MONUSCO's mandate to support DRC's government & FARDC. With their mandate, they can't really be neutral or protect civilians as they claim. If today FARDC says this or that Mai-Mai is an enemy, they shoot; other times they're just civilians.

Yesterday, the South African flag was lowered for the last time at the UN mission headquarters in the Eastern DRC, as the SANDF completes its withdrawal from MONUSCO. After 28 years of rotations, patrols, blood and sweat, South Africa's unacknowledged war has come to a end. We must never forget the sacrifices made, and the lives lost.
