A war of words has broken out between controversial pastor Talent Chiwenga and main opposition CCC leader Nelson Chamisa over the recent disputed elections, with the cleric attacking the popular political mover for mixing religion with politics. Chiwenga viciously criticised Chamisa for using the slogan "God is int it", saying if indeed the Almighty was part of his politics he wouldn't have lost the elections. The recording, which began circulating on social media in May 2026, contains claims about businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei's influence over the government and Zimbabwe's political leadership. Authorities say the audio also encouraged the military to remove President Emmerson Mnangagwa from power. Police raided Java's home and church and arrested some of his close aides while searching for him. Java has denied being the person in the recording, although he admitted the voice sounds similar to his. His brother, Passion Java, has also distanced himself from the audio and claimed it could have been created using artificial intelligence (AI).
