#WATCH | Tamil Nadu: Based on a request from the civil administration, a rescue operation was launched by Madras Regimental Centre, Wellington, late last night to rescue a tourist from Chennai who had slipped and fallen off the cliff at Needle Rock viewpoint near Gudalur, Nilgiris & was incapacitated... due to a likely spinal injury. A team under Lt Col Chandan Mehta launched a challenging rescue operation to retrieve the individual in an immobilised state to prevent further injury. Despite poor visibility, rugged terrain & high risk, the team established a 70 mtrs zip line to rescue him as a vertical lift was not feasible. A very heartening news is coming in just now about the successful rescue and reunion of a juvenile elephant in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Foresters in Gudalur Forest Division in Nilgiris have successfully rescued a juvenile elephant from a 30 feet deep sand well in a farmland where the young elephant had accidentally fallen.After 8 hours of challenging battle the team succeeded in making a ramp for the elephant to safely walk out of the well. After the rescue the team united the baby elephant with her mother who patiently waited nearby with the herd. Big appreciation to DFO Gudalur, Vengatesh Prabhu who led the operation with a team of 40 people from 3 am onwards #TNForest #wildliferescue #elephants

A rescue mission was kick-started by the #SAPS, Fire Brigade, Paramedics and Rescue Officers from the Department of Health’s EMS and the College of Emergency Care. He was hoisted to safety and received necessary medical treatment before he was transported to Mofumahadi Manapo Mopeli Regional Hospital for further examination and treatment. He was rescued safely without major injuries and is stable. #SearchAndRescue ME

The troops simultaneously make their own units safe while continuing to rescue civilians. Alongside this, search operations are also launched for people reported missing due to the severity of the floods.

The Assin North NADMO rescue team has successfully rescued a hawk believed to have travelled from Europe to a small community in the district. The bird was shot by a young farmer, who later discovered that it bore a ring containing identification information. According to a member of the rescue team, the hawk was taken to a veterinary facility for medical treatment and will subsequently be transferred to the Kumasi Zoo.

ALERT: Woman fell down the side of a cliff while rock climbing, and a helicopter team saved her from the ledge. 911 received a call saying a woman had fallen 15 feet off the side of a cliff and was stuck on the ledge of a rock. Fire crews responded quickly and, due to the dangers of where she landed, called in the helicopter rescue team. San Diego Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief Oscar Saucedo said, "She was in a weird position. Our crews couldn't get in there quickly.” A medic was lowered down to the woman, and a team of rangers, a fire crew, and the medic helped bring the climber back onto a trail. The woman was airlifted out of the location, and her injuries are unknown.
