The charge follows a Taser chase that left a fleeing suspected burglar paralysed. The jury heard how the officer was terrified after the suspect allegedly used a van as a weapon. On Friday, February 28, 2025, at approximately a.m., officers responded to a robbery call at a fast food restaurant in the 4000 block of E. Lancaster Ave. The suspect placed an order and attempted to pay with several different cards, but they were declined. He then briefly stepped away from the counter and returned with a large knife in his hand. The employees at this location became frightened and could be seen moving away from the front counter to create a safe distance between themselves and the suspect. The suspect began hitting the counter several times before going behind it to take a bag of food and then fled on foot. The suspect in this case is described as a bald black male wearing a black and white checkered shirt and black jeans. Off-duty ICE officer in California defended himself and k*lled a man who fired a gun into the air on New Year’s Eve and threatened him. The suspect had allegedly fired multiple times into the air with a long rifle, alarming neighbors. The ICE officer confronted him, after which the suspect aimed the rifle at the officer and refused to drop it. The officer fired, and the suspect fired back multiple times. The officer returned to his apartment to don body armor and called police. When LAPD arrived, they found the suspect deceased. The ICE officer was not injured or arrested. The incident is still being investigated. The suspect should have complied, and the officer had every right to self-defense. (NBCLA on YT)
