They want to literally give $0 in funding to all libraries. Democratic State Rep. Peter Merideth called out the insane laws that the state is trying to pass: “I feel like we are starting to live in a dystopian future like “1984” or Fahrenheit 451”. We’re talking about book bans from the government and then the government being mad a librarians as the threat to our kids, and defunding public libraries. Where do I spend my Saturday afternoons? My local library. As well as a supportive environment for reading, books & knowledge, they are places that give the community a warm place in the winter and even hot drinks for those that need it. Libraries really are pillars of our local communities. I used to visit my local East Ham library as a child with my dad each weekend and it gave me the confidence to be who I am. I was the UK libraries champion for CILIP (previously Mary Beard & Stephen Fry) and currently charity ambassador for The Reading Agency. #librarylife #libraries #books #bookworm #storytime #community #winter

Here she is standing in front of a bunch of the extremely sexual books she wants kids to have access to while calling on others to "fight back" to keep these books in their libraries.
