Watch the tutor catch this 9 year old's misconception and gently question him until he figures it out himself. Even if he kept misunderstanding, the tutor would never lose patience or be disappointed in him. Would just keep going until he grokked it.

Interesting, he figured it out at 34 seconds but he had to sit there through an explanation he probably didn’t need for 1 minute and 14 seconds. That felt like forever for me lol. Like Arthur said there has to be a balance between letting the user just spam numbers but also allowing for someone who understood it sooner skip through all that explanation. Really cool stuff, this is my first time seeing a synthesis lesson like this!

Yes, 100% right. This is an early draft. It will improve to iron out those details like letting students interrupt when they be understood.

@chrismanfrank If I were a child though, I'd just plug in numbers until it said I was right. Anything that allows trial and error seems flawed. There has to be something in place that forces the child to acknowledge what the tutor is saying.

@ArthurBaitson This is an excellent point and you are 100% right. We actually design for this. Trial and error is slower with our tutor. It is easier to just do the thinking.

i struggled a lot with math at school. the teachers made me feel like i was stupid, the terrible grades i was getting was making me so anxious, and it's just a vicious cycle where everything only gets worse i always thought they were wrong though and that technically i could have understood everything with the right teacher <3

@chrismanfrank Is the tutor associated with synthesis? Is a tutor a part of the curriculum?

@chrismanfrank synthesis AI is awesome @chrismanfrank. I wonder if this could be open-source someday.
