All this on top of giving birth, ahhh 🙆🏼‍♀️😭 We deserved to be given princess treatment after all this. It is not to come and suffer after. Just make sure, you marry well and have the resources. No, let her collect Wife of the Year award. 🙄A woman who is 5cm dilated is in the kitchen cooking jollof rice? Does she have no family or support? Must everything fall on her because her husband cannot cook? Maternal deaths and childbirth complications are serious issues. Sometimes, it’s not village people; it’s ignorance, poverty, and harmful expectations we impose on women. Thank God she delivered safely, but what about postpartum complications, exhaustion, and recovery? Climbing an okada minutes after delivery is concerning, especially when she should be resting and getting adequate nutrition. Are women adequately educated during antenatal about childbirth risks and the importance of postpartum recovery? We need to stop glorifying suffering as proof of a good wife. Women deserve support, not awards for enduring unnecessary hardship.

I am genuinely angry because I lost a cousin who delivered in a one room clinic owned by a woman, her third child but internal bleeding started and couldn’t be controlled, no blood collected as per usual standard before delivery and this girl just went like that.

I had a perineal tear too even inside the car going back home the way I sat down sef, it’s so painful!! This man came to see my mother in law and told me to sit right, the way I eyed him ehn my mother in law came back to say “do you know if he’s a doctor?”. He’s obviously NOT!!

This guy doesn't know anything. At 5 cm a nurse will tell you to go home or be walking around and come back ... They will even be insulting you. The woman cooking does 2 things. - hold the mind strong and steady. - the standing and walking that helps with dilation. Wokeness.
