This man should rot in jail for the rest of his life. He doesn't see himself as a responsible citizen of India. Instead, he seems to believe that he has some sort of contract with the Indian state, under which reservation is the only thing preventing anarchy. People like him are pushing India towards civil war. For them, reservation is more important than the country itself. But I know our government is too cowardly to arrest him. If I were in power, this man would never see the outside of a prison again.

The Lord Mayor Balimwezo is standing in the Constitutional Square, ranting openly before the cameras that he is fighting for the preservation of the only remaining green space in the city centre. But before we go too far, let us remember who this same person has been. This is the same Balimwezo who was aligning his notepad, not a foot soldier, just to avoid taking a combative and defiant posture whenever he was dealing with government or state officers, especially in cases like these. So how do I explain what I am seeing now? The very position where I expected the patriotic group, the National Unity Platform foot soldiers, to be fighting for the defence of the park is now occupied by Balimwezo himself, standing there ranting and hissing like an overheated radiator. You can see this shift on the ground. That contrast is difficult to ignore. To me, it looks like Balimwezo is trying to send two messages at once. To the opposition, he wants to demonstrate where he belongs, that he is pro-opposition and that he supports the opposition. At the same time, he has shown that he can accommodate the government's coverage. Now he appears to have been squeezed into this particular position where he has to come out and shout in the park himself. And this is why I keep asking: why did they try to demean what Lukwago was doing? Lukwago was doing exactly this. He was standing up over the same issue, and they accused him of all sorts of things, including that he did not want development. Now I wait to see how Balimwezo will finish his term as Lord Mayor of Kampala, especially with all these allegations and concerns about corruption coming from the government. The question is no longer simply who is shouting in the park. The question is why some people were condemned for doing exactly what others are now doing publicly.
