WATCH: When I first ran for public office in 1982, I learned a lesson that shaped the rest of my career. Someone I thought was a supporter double-crossed me. The next morning, my dad looked at me and said: “If you don’t want to serve that person, go down... to the courthouse and pay his taxes.” That advice has stayed with me ever since. Public service means serving everyone, whether they voted for you or against you. As a U.S. Senator, I worked to deliver the same care and attention to all West Virginians, regardless of politics. I haven’t stopped crying since I watched this. What a privilege to still feel so much pain at his loss. Dad was my hero… and a lot of other people’s too. The only reason I am ever brave is because he showed me how. Last year we lost one of the greatest men to ever live. A Major-General who went to war and was willing to die for us. Who put this country and all its people first - often ahead of the family he loved and adored. A Senator who became the most voted for individual politician in Australian history. Those who watch my tv show or read my columns will attest to the fact that I still talk about dad all the time. I’m sure some people roll their eyes at my constant references but I don’t care. His legacy will live on and what he fought for matters more now than it ever did. Someone once told me that you die twice in this life. Once when you take your final breath and the second time when people stop saying your name. Dad will never die twice on my watch - and clearly not on the watch of others as well. My first book publishes today. It has nothing to do with hardcore finance or bitcoin, but everything to do with self-improvement, constant learning, and living the life you want. The book, which is titled How To Live An Extraordinary Life, is a compilation of 65 letters to my children on various life lessons I have picked up over the years. I never had an intention to write a book, but as I started writing these letters in private it struck me that many other people could benefit from these insights. I’ll get more intel out of your agent than you’re going to get out of me." **Grant:** It’s because he doesn’t think straight when he has a woman in front of him, for some reason. **Will:** Grant, you’re projecting, my friend. Grant (Analysis): I mean, that’s what I was going to say to Will. He doesn’t understand this, and I don’t know... I don’t feel a need to defend myself, but you’re out of your mind if you think I didn’t date people in college. I mean, I lost 130 pounds from September 2007 to May 2008—specifically because I was at Boston College and I wanted to date people. I’ve had plenty of relationships. I’m just very disciplined—not because I necessarily wanted to be, but because I heard the call to be a priest in 2013, in the spring, right before I became disabled. I was praying to the Virgin Mary—the Virgin Mother, who’s the patroness of the Jesuit order—outside of Bapst Library. I think it was Bapst. I was praying outside. They have these little shrines to the Virgin Mother all around Boston College. I hope they’re still there; I really liked them. But anyway, I was praying to the Virgin Mother, and I’ll never forget that when you hear the call, it is not a joke. You may not choose to pursue discernment, but you are not getting away from that. It’s not your choice. If you hear the call, you’ve been called to serve. That’s it. It’s not a pact. You’ve literally been called to serve. Your life’s never going to be the same again. I was praying, and I heard the call. It was very clear. The call is different for everyone, but for me, it was like: “The world is yours to behold if you can abscond from your temporal inclinations.” Okay, I know what that means. It was not a choice. My entire life changed from that moment. From that moment on, I never thought about video games or Fridays or the weekend—or women—ever the same way again. I would like to have a partner, to love someone and take on the world together, but I never thought about the world the same way again. So a lot of people don’t understand me. People chase me all the time. I’m not interested in that. I turn people down all the time. I’m not being rude; I just don’t want that. I live to serve. Okay, imagine what it would come down to if I tried to be in the life of every person who wanted me to be intimate with them. I cannot do that. I’m meant to help people. If I was just in one person’s life, I’d have commitments to them and their family—and to my family—that would inhibit me from serving, and I can’t do that. I’m married to the cause: my cause, my principles, and the work that I do. And so it’s not... It’s just that people misunderstand—and will misunderstand—how disciplined I am. I am extremely disciplined over my own urges, over my brain. Everything is just logic. So no, it’s not the same for me. You couldn’t honeypot me if you fucking wanted to. ROSÉ on keeping relationships private “I’ve never been in a public relationship, and a lot of that is because I want to protect the person I love. It hurts more when people close to me get attacked. I’m okay being in the public eye it’s my job but it feels unfair when someone I care about gets dragged into it. Right now, with the fan base I’ve experienced, I don’t know if I feel completely safe. Maybe in the future, if I really trust the media to protect me, I’d feel more comfortable. But for now, I think a lot of people understand what that feels like.”

I believe in the spirit of getting the right thing done. When we made the decision to migrate digitally, it was not easy, but imagine if we had not. Where would we be today? That bold step created opportunities for thousands of young people. If I am ever given the honour and privilege to serve this country in office, I pledge that I will not let you, my fellow Kenyans, down. You will see a government of efficiency, integrity, and service.

Reza Pahlavi: You know, from the first day I started, I considered my mission in life to bring the country to a point that we can have that final referendum and the people elect their first democratic government in the future. That to me is the finish line and mission accomplished in life. I don't have any personal ambition. I'm not seeking power. I don't want to have a crown on my head or a title, but I think that they should look at me as a bridge to that destination and not the destination itself. That's my focus. And any other argument about whether or not I will have a future role is placing a cart before the horse. My focus is on delivering on what I promised forty-seven years ago. That has been my commitment, and the reason millions of people in Iran are calling my name and want my return is because they know that they can trust me on this. I'm the only person that was not part of the revolution or ever associated with this regime. And that's a big plus when it comes to how many candidates are out there. That's why you hear my name chanted on the streets of Iran, and a lot of people in the diaspora support it as well.

First, I wanna thank my teammates. Thank you for putting up with me. Thank you for helping shape a kid full of piss and vinegar. Thank you for doing your best to keep me out of trouble. Thank you for keeping me alive. To my superiors/commanders, I’m sorry for all you had to put up with. The middle age man version of me would’ve probably destroyed that kid that showed up to your team room. When you’re in the public eye, as I have been for some time now, you expect to be scrutinized. That comes with the territory. What you don’t expect is to have members of your own community rip apart painful stories that you’ve laid bare to the best of your ability. Stories that were corroborated by multiple people. Stories that passed legal review. Stories that passed extensive DOD review. Do I think the battle happened exactly the way I remember it 16 years later? No, I don’t. Which is why I addressed that in the introduction to my book. Scars and Stripes was originally called “Failure is Not Final” but the publisher thought we needed a more upbeat and catchy name. Name change notwithstanding, I’m proud of the book. I’m proud of the people I talk about in the book. I’m proud of my service. In this video I address some of the things the podcast charged me with. I know it will not satisfy them as they make their money by trying to bring people down with more followers than they possess. I also know it will not satisfy their most steadfast supporters. I look forward to hearing about 50 grenades from no name private accounts on pictures of my kids until the day I die. It’s not my first internet rodeo. For those of you are reasonable, I ask that you listen to what I have to say, assess whether it is more likely that I fabricated all this stuff and all the people around me and DOD just went along with it, or whether someone went through the book in the least gracious way possible in order to profit off of my name. At twenty-one I sold my first piece of software for seven figures. I thought that meant I made it. No parents. No guidance. No mentor. No understanding of money or taxes. Just a kid staring at a million-dollar check, convinced life had finally changed. And the moment that money hit, my family suddenly “found” me. They told me everything I had wanted to hear. That they cared. That they wanted to be in my life again. And I believed them. So I helped. I bought homes. Cars. Paid for school. Loaned money. Because I thought they were there for me. Then I did what any kid with no financial literacy would do. I bought myself a house. A boat. A car. I thought I was set. Then reality hit harder than any loss before it. Nobody had ever taught me about taxes. And when the tax bill came, it took almost everything that was left. What taxes did not take, the people around me did. And the moment the money ran out, every person who reappeared disappeared again. That year taught me two truths that shaped my entire career. Money does not change who you are. It exposes who everyone else is. And success means nothing if you do not have the discipline to protect it. I lost almost everything. But I gained something far more important. A sense of reality. 🩷 : I bought a self-improvement book about how to get better at talking to people. I’m really not good at making conversation, especially with people I’m not close to. The version of me around my friends and my fans is exactly the same, but when I’m around other people, I’m actually not very good at making conversation. I was talking with my friends about a conversation I had with a celebrity I follow on social media, even though we’re not close. My friend was like, “Why didn’t you keep the conversation going?” and I replied, “Wait, really? I supposed to do that right?” It probably makes me seem stuck-up, but honestly, I’m just scared. I keep worrying, “What if they don’t want to talk to me?” So I don’t dare to start a conversation or say too much. But my friend told me, 'Just go for it! You never know if they want to talk to you or not. Sure, it might feel a little awkward or funny if it turns out they don't want to talk with you, but that's how you get closer to people.' I think I ran out a little bit and then when I hugged my mom, she was the first person I went to was my mom and my dad. I wouldn't be here. It's quite simple. I wouldn't be here without them. I wouldn't get to have - wouldn't have had the chance to live my dream to live an incredible life that I have. I'm such a lucky person. I know I am. And I think that's also why I understand that. I understand what a lucky person I am to have been given that opportunity to get to enjoy my life since such a young age, karting, traveling the world, doing what I do. I get to now say thank you in the biggest way possible. And I also just get to give back and it's so hard to do that. When I got my first job at a restaurant in Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos, I truly understood what it meant to work. I had no clearly defined role. You simply did whatever needed to be done. One minute you were attending to customers, the next you were cleaning, serving, taking orders, or helping in another department. And all of that was for a salary of ₦21,000. At that time, it was necessary for my survival, so I embraced it. Looking back now, I realise that season gave me much more than a paycheck. It taught me discipline, humility, attention to detail, and most importantly, customer relations. It taught me how to treat people, how to solve problems, and how to serve with excellence. Many of the things I know about business and customer experience today were first learnt in that small restaurant in Surulere. Sometimes, the jobs and seasons we are eager to outgrow are quietly preparing us for the future we cannot yet see. #Tadé

Not long ago, I turned down an offer from a major news network. I read through the terms and realized it came with too many constraints, it was more of a control document than a partnership. So I walked away and chose a smaller outlet instead. The pay was not the same, but they treated me with integrity and gave me the freedom I cared about. No one ever controlled my speech. My mom thought I was making a mistake. She warned me that people who cling to idealism and independence in the media don’t usually end up financially secure. My dad saw it differently. He told me to go for it, decline the fancy offer and go with what I believed, he said that I had the drive to carve my own path and shouldn’t let myself get absorbed into something that didn’t fit. He’s always been in my corner. He's my best friend. I trusted that instinct and went all in. That decision gave me the space to chase my own vision in journalism, and eventually I stepped out completely on my own, no overhead, no constraints. It’s intense, almost nonstop work 24/7, but the payoff is real - I love what I do, I respect the people I work with and I get to stay true to myself. I sleep so well at night! I might not be the richest journalist out there, but I’d argue I’m one of the luckiest. I love my colleagues and I love my friends in the industry. Journalists are often hated today because of the rise of propaganda machines, but some are doing far braver work than many soldiers out there! So support the good ones, you all know who they are.
