Its athletes competing across seven sporting disciplines, KIIT will have the highest representation by an Indian university in any edition of the Games. KIIT Founder Dr Achyuta Samanta says, "We are happy and proud that Odisha is representing India through over 40 athletes... Odisha is the second highest now after Punjab in sending players to the World University Games with 42 athletes... We thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting sports and sports personnel like anything... Our student Dyuti Chand has brought the first gold medal to India from the World University Games..."

After much thought I have officially entered the transfer portal and am excited for the next chapter of my baseball journey. I’m looking forward to finding my next home and embracing the opportunities ahead. Thank you to DBU and Coach Heefner for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be part of a special program. I’m especially grateful to my teammates for their friendship, support & the memories we’ve shared along the way. (A few swings from 2 of my starts.)

This week, members of our 2026 Pirates Draft Class took time out of their schedule to host athletes from the Miracle League of Manasota, Fla, for an afternoon of baseball fun. The Manasota Miracle League is one of 12 Miracle Leagues supported by Pirates Charities with a goal to provide all athletes, regardless of ability, the opportunity to realize their dream of playing baseball.

More than 500 #Nepali #Students were forced to leave the campus of the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (#KIITUniversity), in #Bhubaneswar after tensions flared following the alleged suicide of a female student from #Nepal on Monday, February 17. All #NepaliStudents directed to vacate the hostel immediately without any prior notice, after declaring Sine Die for all the Students from Nepal. The International Students from Nepal allegedly beaten up, 'forcibly' asked to vacate campus despite upcoming exam in a few days. Without tickets, without food, they have no clue how to reach home. They cannot even inform their parents as they will be worried. They have exams coming in one week. Reportedly a third-year female student from Nepal had ended her life by hanging in her hostel room following an alleged harassment by another male student from KIIT on February 16. Following the death, students particularly of Nepali origin took to the street demanding arrest of the boy responsible for abusing of the girl leading to her suicide. Source: OTV
