I liked most of the movie, but a lot of the emotional moments in it hinge on the love between the husband and wife and I just did not feel it. Also the ending of leaving Akkiko and then immediately going back to get her sucked imo

The ending had me worried and that it would be one of my criticisms with the movie, thankfully it didn’t happen.

I don't even have kids and that scene towards the end was the closest any film has ever gotten to making me cry. Im talking like ugly cry, too. I had to literally hit the speed face to stop myself.

When it was done, a woman behind me just went "Oh that was horrible."

Yeah, a whole new range of fears is unlocked.
