Watching some Nico Hoerner defensive highlights after Craig Breslow’s comments about infield defense.

If anyone knows what Hoerner means to a pitching staff it's Breslow.

Cubs fan here. Nico was our most consistent player last season. He hit .419 in the playoffs. Very unlikely he gets traded at this point in the offseason. Plus Shaw has been practicing outfield in Arizona today, meaning he likely isn't being moved to 2nd

Do what you have to get Nico to be your second baseman. Puts the ball in play, can run, and plays great defense.

Really does remind me a lot of Pedroia. Not many guys in the league like it anymore I think it’s worth a slight overpay just because of his long term value & being a staple at such an important position that has been a hole for the team for years

Matt Shaw makes more sense given his power profile, control and less essential nature to the Cubs

Hoerner at 2B, Mayer at 3B and then Eugenio Suarez as your DH on a short deal. 50 bombs batting cleanup, GG at 2B and arguably the best defensive IF and OF in all of MLB. Top 2-3 rotation at both the MLB and AAA level. It's all very doable.

He is a very good player. They should try to acquire him

Would Bello or Early get it done or would they want more? He doesn't have much pop.

We literally have todo something like this. We have incredible ground ball pitchers. If we don’t go defensive infield, we’re building a team to counter our own pitching staff.

Nico would be the only decent move all off-season. Contreras doesn't do shit for me and Suarez 5 year deal is a joke. Its not even close. Breshoe is tbe worst GM I've ever seen in any sport and it's not even close. Log jams w/ shit everywhere. The kids are the only bright spot
