I want to actually take a real Vacation, one where I completely disconnect. That's why, if you're reading this, I'm on a plane or possibly already in Spain. Lulla and I are going to Valencia with her family, and I couldn't be more happy to spend time with my favorite person. I've always hated the feeling of missing out on streaming for even a day or going even hours without posting any content, so the idea of taking a trip for this long has definitely weighed on me a bit. Retweet if you enjoy! With a spinal cord injury and in particular mine which is so high up in my spine the less movement I am going to have. Basically wrist/finger movement are last to regain and arm movement usually comes back first. I was told I would never move a muscle again and now to have arm movement that I have had for a while but now to have control of my left wrist is something absolutely amazing to see the hard work paying off! Day by day im learning new ways my muscles/way to move work. Its crazy because me lifting my arm feels like 20kg in itself. That shows you how much damage was done to my body when I broke my neck and severd my Spinal Cord. People in the gym are satisfied when they squat 300kg, im happy when I lift my arm. I take everything in moderation! It's all I think about is getting movement, while I'm in bed I'm thinking about it, then its time to sleep. Dedication doesn't have an off session. Hard physiotherapy, day in, day out. Refusing to give up! Another part of this I love is sharing my results with the world. For every single one of you who believe in me. THIS IS FOR YOU. At the hospital on Thanksgiving. I am thankful for 16 years of memories. This is likely the last full day my husband, Don will be alive. We have made the decision to proceed with comfort related care beginning tomorrow. Some of you know he had a stroke in 2019. It slowly progressed and got worse. It’s been a struggle to juggle my life, happiness, and also be his caregiver. He recently fell in his memory care facility a few days ago and it has quickly progressed from ER to hospital admission to ICU after a code blue. I was told he went without oxygen to his brain for 20 minutes. I don’t know how to process this right now but the best I can do is be with him on Thanksgiving. It was his favorite holiday. He called it “Fat Boy Christmas.” I don’t know if he can hear me but I have told him I will be okay and he can pass peacefully. I will play the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade for him. Perhaps it will bring back some really good happy memories. Please enjoy this video of Don singing. He was an amazing singer and sang until the very end. He never forgot the lyrics to his favorite songs. His brother passed away around the time this video was recorded and it made him realize life was too short. This video is from about a month ago when we first got my mom home from the hospital. Her jaundice had set in from the bile duct and liver cancer, her ammonia and bilirubin were sky high, and we were told she had days to live. They didn’t think a bile bag procedure would even be possible because over 80% of her liver had tumors, but somehow they were able to do it. Her levels came down, and we got to bring her home. We were told days… we got a month. I thank God for that time every single day. Especially those first couple weeks with my sister and my uncles all together, sharing meals, stories, and laughs. The last 10 days were the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. Watching her decline and suffer is something I’ll never forget, and I can’t imagine what she was feeling. One of the things I’ll miss most is how amazing she was with my dogs. Sophie, Little Guy, and Popcorn were everything to her. She took care of them all day, made their food from scratch, and loved them like her own. This moment was her first day home. She had a little burst of energy and wanted to give them treats. I’m so grateful I got it on video. They’re grieving too. They go into her room and lie down, and whenever I say her name, their ears perk up. Thank you, Mom, for everything. We’re going to miss you every single day. I love you. Sophie, Little Guy, and Popcorn love you too. Rest in peace Mom.

For those who aren't on Facebook and who might be wondering why I haven't been posting much on this platform over the past month... It's hard to believe that one month ago today, Mom was called Home to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father. The past month has been a whirlwind and such a roller-coaster of emotions. Grief is a strange thing. While it's comforting to know Mom is in a much better place, watching my Dad grieve her so deeply has not been easy. I have spent every waking hour at his house this past month to help him with everything that needed to be taken care of. One thing I have learned from all of this is how ill-prepared I am as far as preparing all the necessary arrangements for when God calls me Home. I need to get on that as soon as possible. As today is Mother's Day, this is the first one I had to celebrate without my Mom. I have been blessed to live so close to my parents for the past several years which enabled me to celebrate Mother's Day with her and my Dad every year. Becoming a mother to my son, Josh in 2003, made Mother's Day all the more special, being able to celebrate with him and my Mom. I had been wanting to create a video tribute to Mom for the past month but have had so much to do that I decided to wait to create this in her honor for Mother's Day using my Dad's recording of the song, "Jean"... ...for his Jeanne Marie... ...for my Mom. Happy Heavenly Mother's Day, Mom! I love you and miss you so much, it hurts. There is talk by folks like Elon Musk Donald Trump Jr. about abolishing the changing of times from standard to daylight savings time. FYI "fall back" time change is standard time and the "spring forward" is daylight savings. What concerns me is the talk is about making Daylight Savings Time permanent and not Standard Time. This has been tried before and it failed miserably (see video) This has profound health & safety implications if Daylight Savings Time is made permanent. For the last 45–60 minutes of every day, my unwinding routine has been sitting with Seema and Kiaan while they read. I still can't seem to read a physical book myself. There's some kind of mental block, so I usually listen to an audiobook or a podcast instead. That said, I do think reading a physical book is probably better. It demands your full attention in a way that very little else does. One thing that's made a surprisingly big difference to my sleep is having a proper wind-down routine. An hour before bed, all screens go off (other than the audiobook or podcast), and I try to get to bed at the same time every night. It's amazing how much consistency and a simple routine can improve sleep. Maybe the next challenge is finally getting myself to finish a physical book.
