Watching this every morning to get hyped and evil

Now this was a monster to edit, so Much improvisation… Everyone was convinced we would have to reshoot this. But the energy was so great I just had to get it to work. It was amazing cause Sandler took the line “it’s about winning.” And just made it better.

All-timer movie, all-timer performance, it's like dark magic. You guys made a generational masterpiece

Always forget that Sandler sorta throws away "this is how I win," which makes the line go even harder. He really is one of our best actors

I think what’s incredible about this scene is that KG is so clearly run out of patience with him at the beginning of it and yet is begrudgingly and irritatingly inspired at the end of it. This scene and Brogosian in the vestibule truly sell Howie’s power.

One of my favorite parts of the whole movie is when Howard is passing the money out the window Garnett is just calmly saying “Howard, come on, Howard, Howard.” Just like telling this stranger who he doesn’t even like “come on man chill out, what are you doing.”

Howard is like the most abrasive man in the world but he does somehow talk everyone into a familiarity, he becomes your buddy

This guy is such a hardass in negotiating with Howard, a true stone wall but fair. And then the movie tells you he genuinely cares for Howard and can see how fucked up he is right now. Incredible touch. The only person who can truly HATE Howard is the wife.

@Srirachachau I love how at one point towards the end you see Yussi looking at Howard from inside a different jewel shop and there’s kind of a slight look of disappointment on his face like maybe just maybe he regrets leaving Howard’s shop

@Srirachachau That look is SO good!!!! Such a small character in the course of the story and that look is SO complicated, he wants Howie to care he left, wants to be with him, wants to not care about Howie, all just in how he looks at him. Beautiful filmmaking.

OPN going full akira soundtrack on this part too is so sick

It's such a sick score. Takes an already great movie and sends the whole thing into the stratosphere

rewatched this recently & my heart was pounding the whole time as if i didnt already know what was gonna happen

It's such a thrill ride, the last 30 min especially take you through every possible emotion

Love that you go from “oh no here he goes again” to SO amped

You kinda can't help but get sucked into his energy, he has a winner's mindset and he was right, he won

He won and he did nothing wrong and he’s a good man………

LETS DO THIS, LETS FUCKING BET ON THIS SHIT

Re-watched this movie for the third time recently, just had to make this image, lol

He deserved an Oscar for this my god he was incredible

this scene makes me levitate every time. Specially as he talks himself into betting the money “let’s fucking bet on this”

This scene really works bcuz Garnet has always been a player to do delusional shit to get himself going as a player. Safdie absolutely knows ball. It’s completely believable KG would act like this

KG lowkey putting on an academy award performance even if he’s playing himself lol

"doesn't that make you wanna step on fuckin Elton Brand s fuckin neck?" makes me laugh every time

Watching this to get amped for the final game for my fantasy championship game tonight. On a side note, KG is so damn good in this, amazing that he was the NBA player they ended up going with after reaching out to so many others.

kind of amazing how good KG was in this movie. maybe he could've made it in hollywood in another life

“This is how I win” deservedly becoming part of the culture.

I find it crazy that Sandler is doing this and Garnett is holding his own

he should’ve got an oscar for this

Sandler got Howie's charisma just right. You can see why he draws people into his orbit and why he was such a good jewelry salesman before the addiction took him out. It's such a well drawn character

Doesn’t that make you want to step on fucking Elton Brand’s fucking neck

on a separate note, i would love to have been a fly on the wall in the editing suite when they threw kaneda’s theme underneath this and smiled like don when he hear’s ginsberg’s jaguar line.

The dark sunglasses makes him look like a dark angel of avarice in this film. It’s extraordinary.

imagine being Kevin Garnett, the morning after having the best game of your life after having to listen to this guy's manic episode and you open your phone to 200 messages about how that guy got slimed

I was the only guy clapping in a theater full of groans. I remember one dude complaining afterward as I held the door open (I worked at the theater) saying something like "Can you count how many times they said the fucking f-word?" Loved it.

when he drops "let's fucking bet on this" and your stomach sinks... Sandler is next level in this.

KG was great for this but I'm also curious how it would've worked with Amar'e Stoudemire since he was supposed to be the guy. Amar'e is a pretty interesting guy so I know it would've still been good. It's just funny to think about.

Sixers twitter got a lot of mileage out of that Elton brand sound bite when he was gm

I fucking love rooting for a guy that just completely sucks, like hell yeah go off you fucking piece of shit

Genuinely the greatest movie ever made “Let’s bet on thissss”

“Doesn’t that make you wanna fuckin kill them” is cracking me up bro

Surprised KG has not been in more movies

“This is how I win” and an entire culture was birthed that day 💯

"let's fuckin' bet on this...."

Best gambling movie of all time
