Watching Vision Quest… Journey - Only the Young

one of journeys best songs

It was…

Ironic, I’m with my son at the New Hampshire state championships for wrestling today and this is the first thing I see on my feed. Love this movie, great way to start the day seeing this!

Oh I’m in NH, good luck!

Best Movie Soundtrack ever: Journey, Madonna, Don Henley, Sammy Hagar, Foreigner, Red Rider, etc.

@MatthewModine - I LOVE this movie. I used to jump rope to Lunatic Fringe to keep in shape.

Also: core memory for GenX

My 2nd fav Journey song, right behind Stone In Love. So good.....

Underrated movie and soundtrack

Great movie. No way Louden Swain beats Schute.

Great movie…great soundtrack

Get down to 168!!

All of us midwesterners had to run around the track in a garbage bag. That's how we cut being poor ect.

Classic movie about the struggles of a young man's first and wrestling's self demands to be great. LEGACY

In 2026 this song is still amazing 🔥

A record exec at Journey’s label removed “Only the Young" and “Ask the Lonely” from their 1983 “Frontiers” album, just before completion in favor of tracks like "Back Talk" and "Troubled Child". Big mistake!

One of my favorite movies. Louden Swain was my fictional hero played by Matthew Modine. 💪

Amazing track and the memories it brings back are almost overwhelming

GREAT flick…

Awesome movie! When it came out, truly inspiring

It’s not the 6 minutes

Huh?

It’s a quote from the best scene in the movie

🤣 and I just watched the movie…

@coach_green_sox One of my favorite flicks. 👍

Greatest Movie Growing Up GenX

@MatthewModine

Top 5 sports movies.

Home Sweet Home Adjacent Love Spokane

Matthew Modine was phenomenal.

My hometown Spokane !!

Great movie and fantastic soundtrack!

If this song doesn't make you want to sprint down your street you are dead inside.

Every time I hear that great song, I think about Kenny Skyaluk, the young man who inspired it, and the interview with Jonathan Cain where he breaks down while talking about.

My favorite sports movie. Soundtrack is a large part of that.

Great movie and the entire Soundtrack is Stellar!

Great movie.

I remember renting that on VHS, I think I watched it like 3 times consecutively 😂

Great flick
