Limitations: Very Hard Materials: While water jets can cut through very hard materials like diamonds or sapphire, it requires the use of an abrasive (like garnet) mixed with the water to actually perform the cutting. Even then, the process can be slow and less effective than other methods for some materials. Extremely Thick Materials: There's a practical limit to how thick a material can be cut with a water jet due to the jet's energy dispersion over distance. Cutting through very thick metals or other materials might be impractical or impossible without multiple passes or specialized equipment.
