Waters Above. Genesis 1:1-19 (literal original Hebrew): 1️⃣ Genesis 1:1-2: “In the beginning, God created the shamayim (heavens) and the earth (erets). The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep (tehom), and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the mayim (waters).” 2️⃣ Genesis 1:6-8: “And God said, ‘Let there be a raqiya (firmament) in the midst of the mayim, and let it separate the mayim from the mayim.’ And God made the raqiya and separated the mayim under the raqiya from the mayim above the raqiya. And it was so. And God called the raqiya shamayim (heavens/sky).” 3️⃣ Genesis 1:9-10: “And God said, ‘Let the mayim under the shamayim be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear.’ And it was so.
