Me and my mates caused this: We turned up at their wedding uninvited and started fighting with the guests and they had the cheek to tell us to leave because we were ruining their wedding when it was only a few of us and not everyone. Then they tried to lock the doors. But we held them open while more came in. We didn’t like the music either so we made the DJ to swerve the Motown and play some techno to suit us. It was an all inclusive bar and a free buffet so we stayed to the end even though we didn’t like it there. I just wanted to call the family out and tell you all how intolerant they were to us. I keep coming back to those helicopters circling the Twin Towers after the planes hit, they were there within minutes. They were right there. Close enough you could almost feel them. Crews ready, hoist ready, the same people who’d pulled 28 off the roof in ’93. They wanted to pick people up. They never did. Because there was nobody on the roof. Not one person. I suppose the ones still alive above the fire just couldn’t get there. Doors locked. Stairs wrecked. Smoke so thick you couldn’t even see the South Tower roof at all. The North one had maybe a small clear corner if the wind was right, and still… empty. NYPD Aviation pilot Greg Semendinger (first helicopter over the towers, also flew the 1993 rescue) said…. “We saw people at the windows. People were waving cloths and sheets and stuff like that… We didn’t find one single person on the roof. It was surreal… There were people that were trying to make it to the roof. The doors were locked the whole time.” That image sits with me more than a lot of the rest. All that noise and metal hanging in the air, and the top of the building just silent. Nobody made it.

The North one had maybe a small clear corner if the wind was right, and still… empty. NYPD Aviation pilot Greg Semendinger (first helicopter over the towers, also flew the 1993 rescue) said…. “We saw people at the windows. People were waving cloths and sheets and stuff like that… We didn’t find one single person on the roof. It was surreal… There were people that were trying to make it to the roof.
