That one friend who’s “thick” in America but a goddess in Nigeria. Culture shock hits different! (Phat Girlz still funny af)

📌

I’d never understand why they don’t use proper Nigerians Rather they take any ballck person and make them speak the language weirdly

An African man is usually attracted to heavy women. I am too

In Africa having a huge wife means you’re doing well enough to feed her.

If fat bodies aee so attractive, why is his entire characters attractiveness defined by how “fit” he is? 🤣

And when they form a group

“Pretty” girls overrated. Never met one that was real. 😂

We had a friend in our troop, and we started calling "Hero" because he would never hesitate to jump on a grenade. We could always count on him when a fridge would try to guard the snacks. I miss him.

Phat Girlz (2006) is a romantic comedy written and directed by Nnegest Likké, starring Mo'Nique in the lead role.Jazmin Biltmore (Mo'Nique), a sharp-tongued, plus-sized aspiring fashion designer, works at a department store while struggling with body image issues and societal pressure to be thin. Obsessed with her weight and unable to secure funding for her clothing line designed for curvaceous women, she feels frustrated in love and career.Things change when she wins a trip to Palm Springs with her plus-size friend Stacey (Kendra C. Johnson) and slim cousin Mia (Joyful Drake). There, they meet Nigerian doctors—Tunde (Jimmy Jean-Louis) and others—who find the women attractive for their fuller figures, a stark contrast to American beauty Jazmin falls for the charming Tunde, she learns self-love, confidence, and cultural differences in beauty ideals. The film blends humor, romance, and empowerment, celebrating body positivity while poking fun at fat-shaming and thin-obsessed culture..

And that’s where I slide in to ask the aerobics instructor if she can help me with my rhythm lol

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Growing up in Africa chubby women were adored as they were assumed rich,because they could afford enough food to get fat.

What aberration is this in the name of Yoruba speaking?

Was that Godfrey? 😂

In truth, Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder

They saw something unbelievable and can't speak good English 😂😂😂

Yeah. Cause these things happen like, never in real life.

This being a documentary of my trip to DR. i’m really in the wrong country like

Now I need to watch this when I get off.

movie name please

At Africa, deeply into the continent, obese women are considered beautiful. Actually, at some towns, the bride is "isolated" many days doing nothing, just eating & drinking to be the most beautiful possible on the wedding. Interestingly, same stuff happens at deep Mexico 🤔

This was a deep movie. But they did Mia dirty the whole film

@Alf444_

Beauty is matter of perspective depending on country and culture.

This is not the opinion of all African men. I love my petite and slim queens.

Ngga just got out jail

That's Jimmy Jean-Louis! I believe he is actually Haitian

Nah I’m bouta watch this 😹😹

@grok movie name and spoiler

Lmao he was tripping

Is that Godfrey 🤣
