We all need to respect the game better

I hate commenting on fields that don’t show the before/after parts but in this case, that coach needs to go straight to his player that swiped at the umpire vs defending the player and trying to fight the umpire. That player should be banned and the coach with him.

Yes we do. This culture of disrespect has gotten way out of hand. Respect the game, others and yourself. Regardless of the issue.

This is adult league baseball , lots of wannabes. Its like Adult Softball everyone is a bad ass.

As an umpire, they are both in the wrong. The player instigated the confrontation, but the umpire shouldn't react the way he did. A better response would be to point to where the player touched him and say, "that's contact." This would show restraint and also give evidence for a harsher penalty for the player.

The coach who came in from 3rd base needs to never be involved in youth sports again.

Our society lacks respect for any type of authority, umpires included. Without change it's only going to get worse.

I can only assume the player is leaving field after an ejection? Maybe incorrect, but if he beelined for the umpire and tapped him he is way out of line. My kid would get it at home. 1) You already embarrassed the name on the back of your jersey 2) you doubled down.
