AOC didn't throw Hong under the bus because she believed that Hong's positions are too extreme. It wasn't ideological. She did it because, with the help of her party and the media, AOC is undergoing a brand transformation for 2028. Her party and the media has already kicked off the rebrand campaign, as Tarlov and Galloway do in the second clip here. AOC is now a "Moderate Dem." Everything is now about recasting perceptions about what she believes is too radical. Everything is now about 2028. AOC For President couldn't be dragged down by a lunatic who is dumb enough to want to cancel Thanksgiving, and was just cancelled by the party establishment. That would've been an unnecessary rebrand speed bump.
