I think I put my finger on the reason why I find this commercial so abhorrent. It’s virtue signalling to the max. If you want to do a real I am Canadian commercial. Show Canadians walking past homeless, elderly and drug addicts while mumbling how they pay their tax dollars and it’s not their problem. Or how Canadians ignore their government while rights and freedoms are repealed. Or how they say they hate the US but cross the border in droves to shop. Or how they elect people, and then completely ignore what those people do, all while blaming their situation on another country.
