However, @thatguym77 realizes "force serves as a container by holding the gas in place", thus eliminating the need for a 'dome'. Faith in a 'dome' is just silly beyond belief. If you believe that the earth has to be an "enclosed system" lest the atmosphere escape into space, then you must also explain why the ocean does not need to be an enclosed system and why it doesn't escape into the atmosphere. Everything you believe about the atmosphere/space interface would be equally true about the ocean/atmosphere interface.

While you're busy quoting half-baked 'science', why not calculate how much the atmosphere weighs—and how gravity keeps it in place? Or is that inconvenient for your flat-Earth narrative, so you skip it and cherry-pick whatever seems to support your nonsense?

The atmosphere is not a sealed container with a physical wall, but rather a dynamic system held in place by gravity, which decreases the likelihood of molecules escaping into space. The cork is key within this experiment… if earths atmosphere where to experience a rapid hole the principles of gas behavior and the second law of thermodynamics would indeed suggest that gases would escape rapidly due to the pressure difference between the atmosphere and the vacuum. However, this scenario is purely theoretical and does not reflect the actual conditions of Earths atmosphere. Molecules do escape slowly over time in a process called Jeans escape, especially lighter gases like hydrogen and helium. But it's gradual, not instant, and countered partially by replenishment through volcanic activity and other natural processes.

This is total BS. The problem with the idea is that some gases are heavy and sink. Other gases that are lighter can go up but there it gets colder and colder at which point they condense and also sink. Pure stupidity.
