Yvette Cooper is getting this wrong. The EU's youth mobility proposal is not free movement. Even with it, British youth would still have significantly fewer rights than anyone else in Europe west of Bosnia.

@YvetteCooperMP is wrong in this instance & it is only a matter of time before we rejoin Erasmus, apply to rejoin the single market & start negotiations for a customs union. It’s no longer a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’. Demographics & economic realities are not going away.

This is nonsense from the Home Secretary, Uk passport holders need an improved mobility arrangement it doesn’t have to be FoM but it should be equal to what Schengen citizens enjoy when visiting the Uk.

What a deeply disappointing decision. Deeply disappointing & tragic for the young generation that is being denied the opportunities Ms Cooper & I had. The opportunities missed today might never return. In my opinion, this is an unnecessary & unreasonable insistence on principle
