The ref, in keeping his cards in his pocket for the majority of the game, allowed Arsenal to commit foul after foul to disrupt the flow of the game, which they also did with their blatant time wasting from the very first minutes. In any other PL game over the weekend, players committing the sort of fouls Jesus did would have had about 5 yellow cards in the first half with others in Arsenal red close behind him. Far from ‘letting the game flow’ he allowed it to be stifled to death by a team intent on not losing. I do not mind refs that get decisions on fouls wrong because everyone can make mistakes, but allowing one team to commit foul after foul without punishment ruined the spectacle.
