Public Safety Training Notification: June 3–7. During the week of June 3 through June 7, multiple Boulder County public safety agencies will be participating in a planned training exercise focused on responding to an active threat incident. This joint training involves law enforcement, fire, EMS, and dispatch personnel working together to practice integrated response protocols through realistic, scenario-based exercises. The training will take place in and around Nevin Platt Middle School, located at 6096 Baseline Road. Community members can expect to see a visible presence of first responders in the area, including police officers, fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency vehicles. You may also see officers carrying training weapons and ambulances driving around the building as part of the exercise. The area of 55th Street and Baseline Road will have increased activity throughout the week. This is a planned exercise and not a real emergency. Please do not call 911 to report activity related to this training. However, if you see something in the area that you believe is unrelated to the exercise and poses a threat or emergency, please call 911 as you normally would. Thanks to the unbelievable generosity of Jim McLuskey at Enviro-clean and grants from the SFA and SLC we have an excellent new concrete surface on the car park next to the pitch. Vehicles are not allowed on it for 2 weeks to allow it to cure and strengthen. The car park will reopen on Friday 10th July. Until then can we car share, use the car parks at the train station and village and street parking in Graham Avenue. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES can anyone park in the residents car park at Kirkton Gate. I’m sure everyone will agree that for the sake of another 2 weeks of slight disruption to have a car park fit for the next 50 years at Kirktonholme is well worth it.

We are now in our 4th special of the 88th. We just passed SB 4 and SB 3 in the Texas House! Senate Bill 4, creates a new state crime for entering Texas illegally. It authorizes Texas law enforcement to arrest and prosecute all people who cross the border illegally. An illegal border crosser can be returned to the port of entry and ordered to return to the country from which they entered. If they fail to do so, they will face even stiffer penalties. Senate Bill 3 appropriates $1.5 billion to continue building the border wall. These funds are in addition to the over $5 billion appropriated in our budget to continue funding Operation Lone Star. The bill also increases law enforcement overtime, pay including extra staffing at the Colony Ridge development in Liberty County.
