Erdogan added that the agreement is not closed to other states, saying Egypt could also join. He described Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkiye as countries that have “always been among the guardians of peace.” The Mecca Joint Defense Agreement was signed in Mecca on August 7 by Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Pakistan. Under the pact, an attack on one member is treated as an attack on all three.
