[WATCH] The informal settlements which our people stay in, it is the responsibility of local government to service our people and put in electricity and water. Over 90% of our homes have access to electricity. The apartheid government only gave electricity to a few areas which only white people stayed in. We have come a long and more needs to be done but we are working and our people can see it. #MbaksOntheGround #VoteANC2026 #LetsBuildBetterCommunities

I wish to reiterate that Disaster Relief Expertise is at the table and this Government remains willing to engage and consult with the elected officials of all parties to get the best possible results. Water Filtration systems are being installed, field hospitals being built and donated, shelters being built, evacuations being done along a list of other efforts. The private sector has been working with the Govt and the NGOs have not only been very helpful but also commended the response of the GoJ publicly for our response mechanism within 6 days. Building back will require something that unfortunately many Jamaicans are foreign to and that is the concept of unity. Trying to set the Govt and the opposition at each other for engagement is NOT the way. In closing, I want to share this with ALL Jamaicans. Our anthem speaks of Unity above all. It doesn’t mention the word “I” not once. We cannot do it alone. Our - Us - We. Let’s unite and rebuild stronger. Rebuild Together. 🇯🇲

Today, I commissioned the Busoga Zonal Presidential Industrial Hub in Jinja City! It is crucial that we revive our commitment to free education in primary and secondary schools. We can’t let school fees hinder our children’s future. Every parish should have access to free education without financial barriers. The NRM's vision was to ensure every child could learn without the burden of fees, and we must return to that principle. I am happy with our training programs at the hub, but we are going to expand them to include motor vehicle engineering and ICT.
