This week, I announced a new investment of $5.8 million to support home-grown carbon management technology companies in British Columbia — helping Canada strengthen its leadership in carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). By investing now, we can de-risk these technologies as they scale, giving Canadian firms a stronger footing to secure contracts with carbon-intensive industries in Canada and abroad. From oil and gas to cement and steel, sectors are actively seeking solutions and we will continue to support this growing sector to develop export-ready technology, world-class expertise, and lower-carbon production.
