Today We head to Court after all the Tuju arrest drama yesterday where he was manhandled by DCI officers who forcefully tried to remove him from Hon Kalonzo’s car and bundle him into their subaru, in the process seriously injuring his back that had been previously injured in a car accident.Also injured was a young medic who was attending to him at Karen police station. There is more than meets the eye in the manner the Tuju issue has been handled by the State and the level of force deployed from his Dari hotel where hundreds of goons and police officers, land cruisers and subarus swarmed at ungodly hours,to his Karen residence and Karen police station where he was roughed up with his lawyers and doctors! We demand due process and respect for the rule of law, the Constitution and all laws of Our land including the National Police Service Act which requires our Police to act not as a Force but as a Service striving for the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and and respect for human rights including the rights of suspects during and after arrest.What We saw yesterday were the lowest standards of professionalism and an urgent need for further police reforms.

I'm deeply concerned about the recent developments in Ghana, and I urge the Ghana Police Service (Ghana Police Service) to fulfill their duties impartially and ensure that the perpetrators of vandalism are held accountable. As a concerned citizen and member of the New Patriotic Party, I believe that destruction of property under the guise of protest is unacceptable and must be condemned. The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of their commitment to maintaining law and order during protests. I implore them to take swift action and bring the culprits to justice. The youth of the New Patriotic Party will not tolerate chaos on our streets, and we expect the police to uphold their mandate to protect citizens and property. The Ghana Police Service is constitutionally mandated to maintain law and order, and it's crucial they remain impartial and committed to serving the public interest. The Pred Hunter team were so worried he may commit sexual crimes in the process of us catching him; we had to do the responsible thing, and that involved the police. When we did approach the police, they asked us to carry on with the sting as they could not find him. We managed to locate everything about him down to his shoe size, as we knew we were against the clock, and this man has the potential to commit heinous crimes. Watch till the end; it's never over till the fat lady sings. 😉

A resident in Abuja reported an incident of police harassment. The individual was picked up by their brothers from the Idu train station, and on their way home to Lugbe, they were stopped by police officers who demanded documents and questioned their occupation. After providing the necessary information, the police insisted on taking them to the station. When the individual and their companions refused, the officers allegedly began assaulting them, handcuffing them, and eventually took their car and two friends to the station, even damaging the car's windshield. The person involved chose to stay at the location of the incident instead of following the officers to the station, sharing the information and recordings of the incident to help spread awareness. We left Oghenemine’s family home and proceeded to the Area Command in Uvwie–Effurun alongside Comrade Akima, other comrades, human rights organizations, and key stakeholders. While at the station, we received a call from the Command PRO, SP Edafe Bright, informing us that the Delta State Commissioner of Police was on his way to meet us at the Area Command in Effurun. As we waited, protesters from Oghenemine’s community arrived. We made efforts to calm them and assured them that the Commissioner of Police would address their concerns. However, after waiting for several hours, the Commissioner did not show up as promised. Tensions rose, and the protesters blocked the road. Shortly after, tear gas canisters were fired at them. Myself, Comrade Akima, and other stakeholders intervened, appealing to the officers to stop the shooting while we continued to urge the protesters to remain calm and patient. Suddenly, a group of armed boys wielding cutlasses and pump-action rifles attacked the protesters, dispersing them and leaving several people injured. Its alledged they are sponsored by Ekpan Community Chairman. I wish to state that the Delta State Commissioner of Police owes us an apology and should take responsibility for the items that were damaged and lost during the incident.
