This raises a serious question: who has been benefiting from salaries meant for these health workers? It is deeply disturbing that while the available medical team is overwhelmed by the huge number of patients, corrupt individuals continue to siphon resources intended to strengthen healthcare service delivery. This is unacceptable, and it must stop. With inspections of only two health centres in Mbale District, we have already uncovered 10 ghost staff being paid by the Government of Uganda. Every shilling stolen from the public is a shilling taken away from essential services for our people.
