A couple of days ago our team found families with their belongings on the side of the street in Deir El Balah. They stopped and asked them what’s wrong. Most of them were women and children. “We’re too tired to set up our tents,” answered the women. So our incredible team set up the tents they had with them and helped them settle in. They set up 20 tents and brought 5 new tents for those with worn out tents. The 5 tents cost $400 each so total $2,000 with 7% commission. The Sameer Project team are here to serve the people, not only with aid distributions but also with their time and effort. God bless our ground team and protect them. Donate here: Khan Younis is now no longer accessible to the Sameer Project team due to the displacement map release today dividing the South from the Central area. This is disastrous as around half a million people are trapped in Khan Younis. Many families in the camp live under a blanket or flour bags stitched together, donate: The Sameer Project team goes to the camp and supports the family by building the new tents for them. Another 5 tents were set up costing $418 each with 7% commission, so the total is $2,090. We understand that everyone in Gaza is in néed but the levels vary and we aim to support those most underserved. In every camp, the team does an assessment of tents, quality of wood/ poles and documents then picks those most in néed. Walking barefoot in high temperatures causes burns and infections in children’s feet. Shoes distributions are an important part of the Sameer Project initiatives, donate: Small steps (Small Steps Project) funded shoe distributions in the past and we recently collaborated on a new distribution. We got 60 pairs trainers for $21 a pair with 10% commission so the total was $1,260. The Sameer Project distributed these shoes to children in the Sadaqa camp (translates to friendship) in Deir El Balah. We are looking to do more shoe distributions during this tough time. We ran out of words to describe how horrible things are in Gaza. From food to water to shelter, the needs are endless. The ceasefire was supposed to be at noon today Gaza time then got moved to 5pm then to 8pm and now it’s postponed till tomorrow. The military occupation can never be trusted. There are NO TOILETS at all in this school in Gaza with over 2,000 students, support here: A school was set up in Nuseirat in a half demolished building. This school started with 50 students and overtime grew to 2,300 students who rotate in morning and afternoon shifts. To provide a toilet unit with 2 toilets, the cost will be around $7,500 with 11% commission and probably another $500 for plumbing and transportation costs. Your support is needed to provide the school with a basic necessity: toilets! The Tuyoor Muhajera was a camp that you’ve seen and supported. An underserved and impoverished camp that was full of make shift tents made out of flour bags and torn tarps. Donate here: We completed our work in the Tuyoor Muhajera camp and built 52 tents. 52 tents cost $150 so total was $7,800. Yesterday our team visited a camp called Atshana (translates to thirsty) and is located right next to the Sowerky cemetery in Deir El Balah. The camp is in bad condition and don’t get aid or support, donate: The Sameer Project team distributed 147 packages with 1.5 kilos of eggplants in each bag. The cost for each bag is $29.25 so the whole distribution cost around $4,300. One meal of eggplants alone for a family costs around $30 and these vegetables are sourced from farms running under big risks. These prices don’t include cooking oil, sauces or spices. Rice prices dropped! With aid starting to come in, prices in markets are slowly dropping. Our kitchen decreased the price of 800g of rice from $17.50 to $9. Donate: Prices fluctuate in Gaza due to the suffocating siege imposed by the military occupation. With aid coming in prices are dropping but if aid stops they’ll shoot up again. We hope that the aid comes in with at least 600 trucks a day consistently for people to get the nourishment they deserve. On the 31st of July, the Sameer Project team distributed 360 meals of rice in Asqalan camp in Deir El Balah. Cost was $17.50 so total of $6,300 with 10% commission. We hope that the aid comes in with at least 600 trucks a day consistently for people to get the nourishment they deserve. On the 31st of July, the Sameer Project team distributed 360 meals of rice in Asqalan camp in Deir El Balah. Cost was $17.50 so total of $6,300 with 10% commission.
