We built a tool to make it easy for Canadians to understand how First Nations are funded and how they spend that money. We scraped over 10,000 financial statements and schedules of remuneration that First Nations disclosed under the First Nations Financial Transparency Act. We then processed those documents...

The biggest injustice in Canada: The corrupt Liberal industrial complex that takes your taxpayer funds, And allocates it to lawyers, consultants & fake Indigenous businesses rather than helping First Nations people themselves. If you didn’t know, it was the Conservatives that formally apologized for residential schools. Liberals, on the other hand, while Chrétien was the Minister of Indigenous Affairs, knew there was a problem. He could have taken action & didn’t. The Conservatives, under Harper & while Poilievre was a part of the administration, went on to implement the First Nations Financial Transparency Act. The Liberals, under Trudeau, stopped enforcing it. Carney still won’t enforce it. Fast forward to today, nearly 40% of First Nations Bands are non-compliant with reporting. Please note: These are the Chiefs & those in charge, and not the individual First Nations themselves. It got so bad that an individual of a First Nations band, had to sue in order to get the financial information that should’ve been provided by the transparency act in the first place. And now, it turns out that from 2020 to 2025, nearly 2000 businesses were removed from the indigenous directory that allows them to have access to federal contracts. These businesses were awarded nearly $300 million. As an example, did you know that in Alberta, the life expectancy of a First Nations individual is nearly 20 years less than a non-indigenous person. It’s similar across Canada: the life expectancy of First Nations is significantly lower than non-Indigenous people AND CONTINUES TO DECLINE. The Liberals created an industrial complex, where the beneficiaries are everyone except for the First Nations individuals themselves. We are now at nearly $32 billion per year in funding indigenous related services & initiatives. The questions we have to ask is: -Where is the money going? -If we don’t have transparency, then how can we ensure it’s going to those in need? -Why don’t the Liberals enforce the financial transparency act? -And why, after nearly a quarter of $1 trillion spent on Indigenous related matters, is their life expectancy going down? A true nation-building project, would be helping and uplifting First Nations and that starts with transparency and accountability. The Liberals have shown they are interested in an industrial complex that creates dependency, early death & corruption. It makes zero sense. It’s insane.

This is my “secret” that nobody knows. I’ve never said publicly & instead I took years of abuse for my positions on Indigenous affairs in Canada. My wife & my three kids: They are First Nations. But I don’t believe my kids resumes need to be put on the top of a stack because they are First Nations. I believe in equality. I believe in a merit based system. I don’t believe we should be asking unelected chiefs for permission to build nation building projects. I believe in uplifting the country as a whole. I don’t believe in mass graves of children as a result of genocide. Facts show mass graves were common for communities as a whole because of Tuberculosis. I believe Residential schools did exist. I do not deny them. I agree - there were flaws. But I don’t believe nuns and teachers were taking the life of children. I also don’t think it’s sustainable that we spend $30 billion per year on Indigenous Affairs while First Nations life expectancy continues to decline. Look it up; they die younger. We must acknowledge that something is broken. Those who actually need help, are not getting it. The Liberals created an environment that doesn’t help those in need, but instead helps a consultant Liberal class. Did you know that when Harper was PM, he created the First Nations Financial Transparency Act? Since we fund First Nations bands with our taxes, audited financial statements must be provided or face enforcement, fines/consequences. The public, the First Nations band members, they deserve transparency from their Chiefs. The Liberals paused the enforcement. Completely. Ask yourself: Why? Did you know that a First Nations band, an individual, HAD TO SUE HIS OWN CHIEF because they would not disclose where their money was going? It’s absurd. He & his people have the right to know. So do we, as taxpayers. I’ve sat back, and seen all the negative comments, threats and how I “hate” First Nations. And it couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s a world that exists, where you can fight for truth, honesty, transparency & normalcy, and it not be considered hateful. I love my wife & my kids. I want to see First Nations AND all Canadians thrive and succeed. WE ARE ALL EQUAL.

Federal Indigenous spending tripled from ~$11B in 2015 to over $32B annually by 2025. Since 2014, nearly a quarter of a TRILLION dollars has been spent on Indigenous priorities. $243 Billion. Since the Liberals PAUSED First Nations Financial Transparency Act enforcement in 2015, there have been no penalties for non-disclosure. Some First Nations have never filed or submitted an audit, others haven’t in over a decade. Meanwhile, First Nations life expectancy plummeted. In BC: it dropped 7.1 years (2015-2021), in Alberta, it’s down 7 years since 2015; now 19-year gap vs non-Indigenous. The opioid crisis hit reserves hardest, reversing prior gains. We have tens of billions poured in, accountability paused and yet outcomes are worse. In addition to all of this spending, we are allowing major land claims, to which most of BC is subject to. ALL OF KAMLOOPS, is under a land claim. The courts allow for oral evidence to be submitted without any other proof. And oral evidence is equally weighted as physical evidence based on historical claims from ancestors. And despite millions spent looking for mass graves, not a single one has been found, but when this is raised, Chiefs call for the resignation of politicians. Canadians deserve truth, transparency and accountability. We also deserve to not lose title to our homes and this era of secrecy, land claims and countless tens of billions of tax dollars going to a particular race for land claims based on oral testimony because, ancestor’s used to hunt and fish there. It all needs to end. It’s not sustainable.
