We built auto self-charging so robots can run autonomous tasks all day with no humans in the loop. This weekend, we had a Unitree Go2 doing security patrols. When the battery runs low, it returns and docks itself. This is the level of reliability real-world robotics needs.

Tesla car runs out of power in the middle of a road, and the owner uses Honda generator that runs on GAS to charge it up a bit so that he could drive to a nearest gas station, where ofcourse, he will have to wait there all day while his tiny generator charges his car a bit more, so he can actually drive to a real EV charging station. This is not the real Nikola Teslas technology at all. This "future" battery charging technology is pure stupid and its making monkeys out of people. Should've just bought Honda in the first place.

They are building an Optimus Academy, which is a large scale, dedicated real-world training facility to accelerate the development of Optimus. The Academy will deploy thousands of Optimus units, potentially 10,000 to 30,000 robots, in a controlled realistic environment where they perform self-play, experiment with tasks, iterate on behaviors, and continuously generate training data through trial and error. The Tesla bots will also run millions of simulations in Tesla’s high-fidelity physics-accurate engine, allowing Optimus to close the “sim-to-real gap” by using these real-world observations to refine and validate the simulations! “You’re actually highlighting an important limitation and difference from cars.
