We built TasteSkill to help people create better frontends with AI. Today we're introducing TasteCode A desktop app for your coding agents, with a dedicated Design Mode that avoids slop and instead produces good UI It is opensource and you can use it with your existing AI subscriptions!

TasteCode also brings your Codex, Claude Code and Grok Build plans into one workspace, with a terminal, browser preview, diffs and checkpoints. The public beta is available for Windows and macOS (Apple Silicon). Still early. Try it and tell us what needs work We would appreciate any feedback! :)

design mode gets real when the agent can compare against explicit references and reject its own slop. taste needs a verifier, not just a longer prompt.

How does Design Mode keep the agent from introducing UI slop—does it generate a plan/diff for approval, or constrain the model another way?

'Avoids slop' is a big promise. Curious what's actually enforcing it in Design Mode. Prompt scaffolding, or real component constraints that survive an unanticipated layout call?

Avoids slop is the part worth testing hands on every design mode for AI coding tool claims this, the differentiator is always in the actual defaults and constraints baked into the design system, not the pitch.
