We met with representatives of Ukrainian and Belgian defense companies together with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever. We viewed Ukrainian-made equipment: reconnaissance and strike UAVs, ground-based robotic systems, and naval drones. We are proud that our industry has contributed so powerfully to Ukraine’s defense. All these “birds” are incredibly important to us – and very dangerous for the Russians. We also discussed the development of Ukraine’s defense industry, opportunities for joint production, and localization of manufacturing in Ukraine. Today, documents were signed envisaging cooperation between the defense companies of both our countries. New projects between our industries, private sectors, and governments are extremely important for our shared production and for the future security of all of Europe.

Today was a busy and productive day filled with important international meetings. I welcomed UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to Kyiv. Together, we signed a One Hundred Year Partnership Agreement, marking a new format of relations between Ukraine and the United Kingdom. I also met with Italy’s Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, to discuss strengthening air defense, joint production, and creating new opportunities for jobs and technological development in Europe. Later, I held a meeting with the Netherlands’ Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kaspar Veldkamp. The Netherlands remains one of Ukraine’s most principled partners, supporting our NATO and EU aspirations and pursuing accountability for Russia’s aggression. Finally, I met with the UN representatives, focusing on support for internally displaced Ukrainians, rebuilding destroyed homes, and financial assistance. Thank you to everyone who supports Ukraine.

Today, together with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, we signed the Agreement on the Establishment of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine. Today’s Agreement and this Tribunal give us a real chance to ensure justice for the crime of aggression. We must send a clear message: aggression leads to punishment. And we must do this together — as all of Europe. The Hague is waiting for those responsible. There must be accountability. We are grateful to the Council of Europe for taking the lead in this process. Justice will certainly be restored.
