🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 "We can fling bodies forward and get embarrassed. That would be a proper booing if that was the case..." John McGinn on hearing boos after Scotland's defeat to Japan, and ahead of facing Ivory Coast. Do results really matter in friendlies?

The fans wouldn't boo if the football wasn't so defensively boring. It will be the same at the world cup.

Absolute joke of a reply, done himself no favours with that response. Are u kidding yourself on John ? Nothing to do with the result. It was the manner of the performance ! All you had to say and be honest. We didnt play well including myself. We were flat , slow in the pass etc.

Listen to that mentality. We could try but watch us get beat. This team is getting another major tournament showing up. Mark my words

They’re not booing the defeat, they are booing the same old pish, same player getting picked every game, these two game should have been about experimenting, why no hearts players, why always Ralston, it’s boring and we will get humiliated af the WC

Football is supposed to be entertainment, the reason why high ticket prices are paid. Yet Scotland in a friendly park the bus and now our manager is rubbing off on our captain

Sending McGinn out to back him up I’ve seen it all honestly. Haven’t won a friendly at Hampden in 10 years, fans pay their money constantly to watch utter shite, barely even get to see debutants rewarded with game time.

Absolute pathetic mentality

If they just intend to go out kick about then price it accordingly. “Who cares if we lose a friendly?” Really? Clearly the manager & players don’t. But paying fans expect more. Fans want to see their team have a go in a home game especially.

I do not believe for a second McGinn, Robertson, McTominay, etc genuinely believe this. At the level they play at. I can understand why they don't want to bury the manager publicly but this is so sad to see, from a guy whi's always seemed pretty switched on.

So the choices were to either lose narrowly or get battered?

Cue the Championship Manager tactical experts telling the manager of Scotland a vastly experienced Aston Villa midfielder that they know nothing. Laughable. 😂

If the players an manager aren't arsed about the game, then all tickets should be free, cheeky to charge for that nonsense

S.C already has his team we all know who will start.

Going into a friendly just trying not to get beat. What’s even the point?

I love what this squad has done for Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 in the last few years but if we’re not going to attack teams then what’s the point in playing at The World Cup? I thought they would’ve learned after the humiliating defeats at the Euros a couple of years ago.

It's a friendly. You could go out and have a right go, put on a show and try to keep the feel good factor and momentum alive. Instead, it's gone flat and everyone is now braced for us turning up at the WC like we did at the Euros.

After the last 2 euro performances. Majority of fans just want to see us go to a tournament and give it a go. Euro24 we were the worst & most boring team there was, sitting back hoping to steal a result. Then Georgia went for it and were a joy to watch.

Just wrong at this point we want our team to actually get forward and show a bit quality rather than safe and defensive football it shows no ambition

Maybe try to pass forward instead of looking back all the time. Thats what people are pissed about.

Start charging a tenner a ticket then for these friendly matches

Glory hunters booing our team is unacceptable. Seen worse Scotland sides and applauded them off If the Tartan army are now boo boys hopefully plenty get huckled in America for their social media

Probably not but pricing does If that’s the attitude of the players then all the fans who bought the packages for qualifiers should get in free

That’s the Steve Clarke mindset thinking they aren’t good enough to go toe to toe with Japan ffs

If your not going to try and win games then make them free for the fans . don’t ask fans to pay to watch players sit in their own half for 80 mins of the 90.

The 'boo brigade' must have been in a cluster near the main stand as no one I have spoken to heard it. Daft wee bpo boys should not gain such attention.

Only thing I’m picking up from a lot of Scotland fans is that they wouldn’t survive watching Livi play for even 10 minutes. Understand frustrations regarding play style, but Clarke focuses on a strong defence. I’d rather that than go back to no qualifying fs

Fair enough but the idea is to win the game, attack the opposition and score, in this case two goals to win it. It never looked likely and never looked as if there was any impetus to do so.
