Christian nationalism has landed at the Pentagon—and they’re not even hiding it anymore. Just look at this photo. That’s Doug Wilson, a Christian nationalist thought leader and influential pastor to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. Here they were pictured together at a recent prayer event at the Pentagon, and it’s a moment that for Mother Jones’ Kiera Butler illustrates just how integrated Christian nationalists have become in our federal government. Butler has reported for years on the strong ties between Wilson and his web of Christian nationalist influencers– dubbed the “TheoBros.” (Including, yes Vice President JD Vance.) But there’s another connection Wilson has with the current mainstream political moment. On January 18, former CNN anchor Don Lemon was arrested in Los Angeles for covering a protest that disrupted services at Cities Church in St. Paul. The arrest drew widespread attention because of how Lemon’s First Amendment rights were violated; journalism groups, including the National Association of Black Journalists, condemned the act What never appeared in the flurry of coverage—until Butler wrote about it— was the link between Cities Church and a Christian nationalist movement that has gained increasing clout with strong connections to the Trump administration. Cities Church was founded in part by a pastor named Joe Rigney, a close associate of Doug Wilson, whose Christian nationalist fiefdom centered in Moscow, Idaho, has gained a national following—and is looked to as an example of what a Christian nationalist society could look like. The global silence in the face of crimes against humanity is shameful. #PTM is a movement calling for justice, peace, and stability for millions who have suffered under systematic oppression for decades. The Pakistani military has killed and disappeared thousands of innocent civilians, committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide, directly targeting the Pashtun and Baloch ethnic groups. These actions represent a blatant violation of international human rights laws, and the silence surrounding these atrocities is deeply alarming and unacceptable. The international community must not remain indifferent to the suffering of the Pashtuns. Global media, writers, intellectuals, and scholars have a duty to amplify the voices of the oppressed and stand in solidarity with #PTM. This struggle is not merely a political effort; it is a fight for fundamental rights and human dignity, which every person is entitled to. Delaying justice is denying justice. The time has come for the global community to recognize and act upon the legitimate demands of the Pashtun people for peace, accountability, and human rights. #PashtunNationalCourt11October #WeRejectBanOnPTM Christopher Landau Foreign Affairs Department of State Auswärtiges Amt Antony Blinken Foreign Affairs Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Qatar France Diplomatie 🇫🇷🇪🇺 Norway MFA Denmark MFA 🇩🇰 Spain MFA Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania 🇷🇴 Slovakia MFA 🇸🇰 Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών Hungary Foreign Affairs Farnesina 🇮🇹 Latvian MFA 🇱🇻 | #StandWithUkraine 🇺🇦 Ministry of Foreign Affairs 🇵🇱 Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs 🇳🇱 Lithuania MFA 🇱🇹 | #StandWithUkraine MOFA of Japan MFA Bulgaria MFA Finland 🇫🇮 🇧🇪 Belgium MFA Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cyprus MFA MFA Austria NLinPakistan 🇳🇱 🇵🇰 Bulgarian Embassy Islamabad Austrian Embassy Islamabad CZECHIAinPAKISTAN🇨🇿🇵🇰🇪🇺 Andrew Dalgleish UK in Pakistan 🇬🇧🇵🇰 Emb. de España Islamabad/Emb. of Spain Islamabad Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran- Islamabad Azerbaijan Emb. to Pakistan @TrEmbIslamabad Maja Derrous Mortensen Greece in Pakistan France in Pakistan 🇫🇷🇪🇺 France Diplomatie 🇫🇷🇪🇺_EN Sweden in Pakistan EUPakistan Canada in Pakistan Timothy Kane U.S. Embassy Islamabad Ina Lepel

This might be the most beautiful Christmas message you've ever heard. Canadian MP Richard Bragdon astoundingly just shared the entire Nativity story of Jesus’ birth in the House of Commons. The pro-life MP brought out parts of the story as it relates to hard times happening in Canada today on account of the Trudeau Liberals’ failing policies. Taxes: “We can see that back then, as it is now, it was a time of taxation. It was a burdensome time.” Housing crisis: “The innkeeper says there is no room in the inn for them. There was a housing crisis in Bethlehem.” MP Bragdon even managed to take a stab at NPD leader Jagmeet Singh over his luxury car. “This promised king and prince of peace did not come by way of a palace, was not escorted by a private jet and did not come in a Maserati.” The entire speech was brilliant. It's worth taking the time to watch the whole clip. Richard Bragdon ended his speech with a powerful testimony to the Son of God, Jesus Christ. “My prayer for everyone in this House is that it helps all of them to know that, yes, he came for everyone on every side of the House, regardless of partisanship or politics, because there are things bigger than politics in life.” “That is the greatest gift that was ever given, because his name was to be called Emmanuel, which means “God is with us”. He is with us in uncertain times. He is with us in hurtful times. He is with us in painful times and in joyous times, and he promised to never leave us.” “With that, to conclude, my wish for the House and for everyone in Canada who is hurting right now is that he may be their Emmanuel, their God, who is with them and with us. Merry Christmas to members and their families.” If you agree with hearing this kind of speech in our Parliament, please repost. #cdnpoli #Christmas2024
