Most people knows what is driving this: more matches. More broadcasters, more sponsorships, more money and more votes. Football is just the marketing slogan. The World Cup shouldn't become a participation trophy. It's limited team participation is part of what made it the biggest sporting event on the planet.

A good development for football and also an opportunity for more African countries representing the continent. African nation should build whatever Morocco is building as unit. I really have no idea of the model of football from Morocco but whatever that is, works for them and other African team should draw from their model.

A 64-team World Cup would be historic, but keeping the quality and competitiveness of the tournament should come first.

Interesting take from Kaveh 64 teams could let more nations like Venezuela shine for the 2030 centenary, but risks more mismatches and a longer tournament.

Why bother with the qualification lets go 128 teams, straight knockout no group games, finalists would need to play 7 games in total, world cup qualification based on top 128 ranked teams from other regional comps etc... or better still lets go back to 32 teams/8 groups

It's utterly LUDICROUS. It devalues the competition if 64 bloody teams can get there, it will be chaotic in terms of fixtures, & NO real football fans want it. It's more destruction of & disrespect for the competition by @fia IDIOT Infantino, driven solely by MONEY. RUINING IT.
